We use the "BOD POD" to measure body composition based on air displacement in our subjects in clinical metabolic studies. The device is located in the Metabolic Core Unit of the Center of Brain Behavior and Metabolism (CBBM).

The Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism working group at Medical Clinic 1 is headed by PD Dr oec. troph. Britta Wilms and PD Dr Svenja Meyhöfer and deals with hormone and metabolism research. Possible therapeutic approaches and preventive measures for obesity and diabetes and their complications are being researched.
We carry out clinical metabolic studies on test subjects and combine these translationally and in close cooperation with basic science working groups at the CBBM in in-vivo and in-vitro model systems. The aim of this working group is to open up new therapeutic options for obesity and diabetes and to prevent their complications in the long term.
