General information for our participants:
In principle, anyone who fulfills the respective participation requirements can become a participant in a study. On the one hand, we are looking for people who suffer from the diseases we are researching to cure. On the other hand, we welcome healthy adults who want to contribute to improving medicine and thus also take on a piece of social responsibility.
You can end your participation in a study at any time - even without giving reasons.
Expense allowance
The amount of the expense allowance varies from study to study, as the duration of the study and the effort involved are different. You will be charged on a pro-rata basis for the study dates you attend.
How does a clinical study work?
Pre-study
At the beginning, there is always a meeting with our medical staff, in which you will be informed in detail about the study. Of course, we will give you enough time to discuss the information with your family, friends, or doctor. A preliminary examination follows this to check whether you meet all the medical requirements for participation in a study. These vary depending on the study. In addition to a physical examination and medical history, additional examinations such as blood sampling, measurement of vital parameters, or anthropometric parameters may be necessary during the preliminary examination.
Informative interview
All details will be discussed with you in an informative interview before you consent. The actual study will then occur on several dates in different periods. Therefore, the number of appointments in the study you are participating in varies and will be communicated to you by our study team during the pre-study interview.
Study procedure
The exact procedure for each study is described in the information documents for study participants, which you will receive before the study begins.
At the end of the study, a final check-up will take place, during which you will be thoroughly examined again.
You will be informed of the results of your examinations, especially if, for example, laboratory tests show any abnormalities.
Questions?
Individual questions often arise, e.g., concerning a medical condition. You are welcome to contact us by e-mail or telephone. We will try to clarify your concern as quickly as possible.
